Your Mind Needs a Map.

At Bold Break, we believe mental training should be as structured and strategic as physical training. The Compass—also known as the Bold Break Journal—is your athlete’s personalized mindset playbook. It's designed to help girls navigate the ups, downs, and emotional curveballs of sports and life with clarity, purpose, and power.

This isn't a regular notebook. It’s a neuroscience-backed, psychology-informed, athlete-approved system. And it’s built to create transformation.

What Is The Compass?

Think of The Compass as part journal, part roadmap, and part mental gym. It’s the foundation of our M.A.Z.E. Model, an intentional framework that teaches young athletes to:

  • Master their mindset

  • Analyze what’s working or not

  • Zero in on what matters most

  • Execute with confidence and clarity

Using reflection prompts, visualizations, mindset reps, and weekly “game plans,” The Compass trains emotional agility, builds resilience, and empowers athletes to show up with intention—on and off the court.

Daily and Weekly Pages

Short prompts guide athletes to track their progress and effort, reflect on what fueled or drained them, reframe mistakes into momentum, and set micro-goals that align with their long-term vision.

Integrated Mental Skills

Each section quietly builds cognitive-behavioral skills—like self-awareness, focus-shifting, and emotional regulation—without ever sounding like a therapy session.

Visualization + Mantra Practice

Athletes are taught to use mental rehearsal techniques and personal mantras to train their nervous systems and performance mindset like a pro.

Gamified Progress

Athletes collect “wins” each week based on consistency, effort, and growth—not perfection. This taps into intrinsic motivation and makes tracking habits feel like a challenge, not a chore.
