Lakeside High School Volleyball Program Adopts The Bold Break Mental Performance Training System
Nine Mile Falls school implements proven M.A.Z.E. methodology and Compass Journal system to develop confident, resilient athletes who thrive on and off the court
Napa, CA -- Lakeside High School volleyball program today announced the adoption of The Bold Break's comprehensive mental performance training system for all players and coaches. The program implementation includes The Bold Break's signature Compass Journal and access to the proven M.A.Z.E. Model methodology, providing Lakeside athletes with the same mental training tools trusted by schools, teams, clubs, and individual athletes nationwide.
The adoption addresses a critical need in youth athletics, where 70% of athletes report performance-related anxiety and nearly 50% experience burnout symptoms by age 15. Through The Bold Break's systematic approach, Lakeside volleyball athletes will develop confidence, emotional regulation, and resilience skills that enhance both athletic performance and life success.
"We have been working on including some mindset training and thoughtfulness behind what we are doing each week in the gym," said Kari Jones, Head Coach of Lakeside High School volleyball. "Instead of just pencil and lined paper, The Bold Break journals are much more inviting, and have lots of good stuff already in them that I know our girls will be able to use well. After trying the system myself with my daughter and seeing the results, I knew this was exactly what our whole team needed."
The implementation includes Compass Journals for the entire varsity program, including dedicated coaching versions for staff development. The Compass Journal serves as each athlete's personal roadmap for building confidence and handling challenges through guided mental performance exercises.
A Personal Investment in Team Success
Coach Jones first discovered The Bold Break through personal experience, initially ordering a journal to evaluate the system with her own daughter. The positive results led to her decision to implement the program across the entire team for the upcoming season.
"It's incredibly meaningful when a coach personally invests in understanding our methodology before bringing it to their team," said Gabby Cole, Founder and CEO of The Bold Break. "Coach Jones's approach demonstrates exactly the kind of thoughtful leadership that creates lasting impact. When coaches truly understand the system, they can guide their athletes to breakthrough results."
Beyond Traditional Sports Psychology
The Bold Break's approach treats mental training as a systematic skill developed through consistent practice. Rather than one-time motivational talks, athletes engage in daily mental training that builds confidence through repeated application of proven techniques.
The program extends beyond athletes to include comprehensive support for coaches, ensuring everyone works from the same mental performance playbook.
Community-Focused Implementation
Lakeside High School, serving approximately 510 students in grades 9-12, is known for its strong sense of community and supportive faculty environment. The school's commitment to providing comprehensive development opportunities aligns perfectly with The Bold Break's holistic approach to athlete development.
The Nine Mile Falls School District's investment in mental performance training reflects a growing recognition that developing elite athletes means training both the body and the mind.
Proven Results Across the Nation
The Bold Break methodology has demonstrated measurable impact across hundreds of athletes nationwide. Programs implementing the M.A.Z.E. Model report improved team cohesion, better performance under pressure, and athletes who display greater resilience both in competition and daily life.
Coach Jones has committed to providing regular updates on the team's progress throughout the season, contributing to The Bold Break's ongoing research on mental performance training effectiveness in high school athletics.
